SAN LUIS VALLEY — Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) has awarded its final lottery grants for Fiscal Year 2010 and three projects in the San Luis Valley share $460,372. The projects are:

• The Del Norte Community Athletic Fields Linear Walking Trail sponsored by Rio Grande County, a $26,372 grant to install a 3,000 foot loop walking trail at the Del Norte Community Athletic Fields.

• The Rio Grande Ranch Project in Rio Grande County sponsored by the Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust, a $240,000 grant to place a conservation easement on 167 acres of the ranch where the Rio Grande River runs along the property’s north boundary for a half mile creating riparian habitat along the river as well as associated sloughs and wet meadows.

• For the kids playground and exercise trail sponsored by the town of Manassa — a $194,000 grant — to update the current playground and basketball court adjacent to the Manassa Elementary School.
