Poudre River Trail to stretch another 1.2 miles through conservation easements

The Poudre River Trail is expected to get more than a mile closer to completion in the coming years thanks to new conservation easements along the river that include easements for the trail.

The Larimer County commissioners on Tuesday approved the purchase of two conservation easements covering a total of 337.76 acres of land along the river north of the county's River Bluffs Open Space near Windsor.

The properties known as Three Bell I and Three Bell II are owned by Timnath Farms Investments LLC, a development company owned by longtime local residents Mike and Dino DiTullio.

The cost of the easements total $2,512,000. Funding for the purchases will come from Larimer County's and city of Fort Collins' open space sales tax dollars as well Great Outdoors Colorado and the town of Windsor.
