Our commitment to conservation permanence is a common goal for all land trusts. CCLT has a Conservation Excellence grant from GOCO to create and offer a finance course created specifically for land trust community (staff, board members, supporting professionals like accountants, CPAs, and financial advisors) to plan for long-term sustainability.
Join CCLT and Professor David Cox (DU’s Reiman School of Finance & Daniels School of Business) for:
“Colorado Land Trusts and Finance: Planning for Perpetuity”
This course builds on the Land Trust Alliance’s foundational “Financial Management of Land Trusts” Standards and Practices text with real-world examples from active land trusts. Our goal is to improve financial management practices and knowledge across the statewide community.
This course will be offered in-person three times:
Glenwood Springs, Friday, September 30, 8am - 4:30pm, Glenwood Springs Community Center
Golden, Monday, October 3, 8am - 4:30pm, American Mountaineering Center
Durango, Tuesday, October 11, 8am - 4:30pm, Durango Public Library
**This course is being offered AT NO CHARGE. We're even offering travel scholarships.**
CCLT wants to encourage as many land trust staff and board members to attend as possible. We know it's a big deal to take a full day out of your schedules to join us. To help incentivize participation, we're offering reimbursement for milage and hotel costs. Preference will be given by applying early and for organizations bringing board members.
